Honey Derma P(LA/CL) 3D Cogs have multidirectional barbs which fix and support the skin tissue in various directions and are excellent for long-lasting non-surgical thread face lift treatments. With a 360° Helical Barbs design, Honey Derma Thread 3D Cog can help to fix and support the skin tissue in various directions with a long-lasting effect. Honey Derma Threads are used for ‘non-surgical’ face and neck lifts, as well as facial rejuvenation and wrinkle-reducing treatments. This minimally invasive procedure uses dissolvable Threads such as Honey Derma P(LA/CL).

Acting on the deeper layers of the skin, Poly(L-Lactide-co-ε-caprolactone) is a state-of-the-art new thread material that can last more than 2 years. The tissues react to the implantation of the P(LA/CL) threads by stimulating type 1 and type 3 collagen production and by developing a fibrous capsule. Even after full biodegradation into non-toxic ordinary substances over a period of 18-24 months, the fibrous capsule continues to hold soft tissue for 3 to 5 months. This is because, the chemical bonds and structure in P(LA/CL) threads are stronger and more complex. They consist of L-polylactic acid in combination with Σ-caprolactone. L-polylactic acid promotes the regeneration of skin tissue collagen and has a rejuvenation effect. While Σ-caprolactone, slows down the biodegradation process, increasing the duration of the tightening effect, and serves as a lactic acid delivery system to surrounding tissues.
Another material often chosen for surgical sutures is the Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA). The PLLA has been observed to be even more effective at stimulating collagen production than PDO. This material has a lifetime of two years or more and once dissolved, the PLLA breaks down into harmless ordinary substances like lactate, glucose, carbon dioxide and water.
